Celebrate the Start of Autumn
At Our Farmers’ Market


Happy Autumn! Visit us at the Dvoor Farm this Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and support your neighborhood farmers. We’ll have an assortment of your favorite fruits and veggies, along with meat, bread, cheese, fresh-cut flowers, native plant seeds, coffee, pastries, eggs, milk and more. Enjoy a flatbread pizza made with farm-fresh ingredients while listening to live music. Here’s what’s happening at our Farmers’ Market this Sunday:

Yoga

Take a break from your busy life and feel refreshed, rejuvenated and centered with a Sunday morning yoga session with instructor Lauren Theis at the Dvoor Farm. Yoga begins at 8 a.m. in our wagon house — just before the market opens. Cost is $12, and no advanced registration is required. Just show up with your yoga mat!

Recipe

Potluck German Apple Cake

What You’ll Need:
3 large eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups chopped peeled tart apples
3/4 cup chopped pecans

FROSTING:
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
2 teaspoons butter, softened
2 cups confectioners’ sugar

What To Do:
— In a large bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla. Combine the flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt; add to egg mixture and mix well. Fold in apples and nuts. Pour into a greased 13×9-in. baking dish. Bake at 350° for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.

— In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and butter. Add confectioners’ sugar, beating until smooth. Spread over cake. Refrigerate leftovers.

Yield: 12-16 servings.

The Late Night Kennel Club will leave you howling for more! This duo of Vern Warta and Nancy Macaulay offers a mix of new music and vintage, innovation and irreverence favorites. . . with an unlikely styling of gypsy jazz, blues, surf noir and western swing.

They’ll perform under our music tent between 10 a.m. and noon. Grab yourself a flatbread pizza, pastry, yogurt or coffee and enjoy some great live music.
