Pepper Meets a Wolf … Sort Of


Are there wolves at the Dvoor Farm? I wish! Wolves haven’t been seen in these parts for many years. I am currently the only representative of the canine species in residence at the farm. But it looks like there may be Wolf Trees at the Dvoor Farm, which doesn’t impress me nearly as much as seeing a real life wolf would, but the humans here seem pretty excited about it. I just feign interest and stay close in the hopes they will drop some food on the floor in all their exuberance. (This actually happens more than you’d think. The best was when some girl scouts came by, here’s me at snack time waiting for the goodies to come my way) …

A Remarkable Year for the Land Trust


Happy new year to all our friends and supporters. With your help, the Land Trust has had a banner year. In early 2010 the Dvoor Farm was listed on the National and NJ Register of Historic Places, and, as of two weeks ago, we moved our offices into the farmhouse. Our farmers’ market had record attendance; it was featured in the NJN series “NJ Fresh,” and the NJ Secretary of Agriculture visited for a press event. Land Trust Moves into Historic Farmhouse


The Hunterdon Land Trust is starting 2011 in a new location. The Land Trust moved its offices to the Historic Dvoor Farm on the Route 12 Circle in Raritan Township, site of the organization’s Farmers’ Market. The farm was acquired by the Land Trust in 1999 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. The Georgian-style stone farmhouse was built in 1798 …
