New HLT Farmers and Vendors for 2018

Please welcome our new farmers and vendors for 2018:

Buy The Farm

The folks at Buy The Farm started making their own sriracha a few years ago, using peppers and garlic from their backyard garden. They would give out jars to friends and neighbors. These tasty products became quite popular, and people started asking to buy them; now the line has grown to include 14 different varieties! Buy The Farm partners with restaurants and breweries to make fun stuff, including Mr. Lee’s Noodles, Weyerbacher Brewing, Colony Meadery and more. All sauces are made using as many locally-sourced ingredients as possible, and are made by hand in small batches. It also makes fresh hummuses, dips, preserves and chips.

What You’ll Find: On opening day, Buy The Farm will feature at least six varieties of sriracha and four different hummuses: lemon and ramps hummus, lemon & sorrel hummus, traditional hummus, smoked sriracha hummus, basil pesto hummus, In Queso Emergency, Bierkase (beer cheese), and smoked salmon and caper cream cheese.

Will’s Amazing Vegan Burgers

If you visited our winter Farmers’ Market, then you already know about Will’s Amazing Vegan Burger. If you didn’t, boy, are you in for a treat!

Will Pough worked as a chef for about 40 years and as he neared retirement began thinking about what he wanted to do next. He never expected vegan burgers would be his calling. But one day, while working in a juvenile facility he met a young man who often went out of his way to lend a hand in the kitchen. The helper was a vegetarian, and Will decided to show his appreciation by making him something special to eat. Thus, the first vegan burger was born.

Since, then Will has spent years experimenting with flavors and ingredients to perfect his vegan burger.

“That simple act of giving opened the door to much more than I imagined,” he noted. “I’m proud of my product and hope it benefits your life as well.”

Make sure to pick up a few packs of his delicious burgers, but get to our market early: Will’s burgers have been flying off the shelves. (Well, if we actually had shelves, but you get the idea!). Will’s burgers are gluten-free, dairy-free and soy-free.  They’re made from organic brown rice and organic oats, black beans, chickpeas, Yukon Gold potatoes, carrots, onions, mixed peppers, zucchini, garlic and other all natural ingredients. Some of the ingredients are provided by our local farmers.

What You’ll Find: Frozen, home-made vegan burgers that are soy-free, dairy-free and gluten-free, and sauces including sun-dried tomato ketchup.

Make sure to stop by this page again soon, as we’ll have announcements about some new neighborhood farmers and vendors joining us!
